Server Rules

To maintain a fun experience on our server, where everyone can relax and play together, we have a set of rules to protect you and our community. We are also transparent with all our bans and have a commitment to fair moderation.

It is required that you understand and follow each rule outlined below. Click on each one to read fully.

General Rules

  • 1. Real Money Trading

All in-game items and services must remain within the game's ecosystem. Trading in-game assets for real-world currency, gift cards, or external goods is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban. The only exception is donating the Patron rank to someone of your choice.

  • 2. Technical Gameplay Elements

2.1 - Exploits: Players must not exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended game mechanics for personal gain or to disrupt the game. If you find a bug, report it to the staff immediately.

2.2 - Spirit of the Rules: Standard gameplay should respect the intent behind these laws. Finding "loopholes" to technically avoid breaking a rule while still causing harm or disruption is still punishable.

This section ensures fair play from a technical standpoint. Playing the game should rely on skill and intended mechanics, not on breaking the system.

  • 3. Chat Spam

Keep the chat readable. Flooding the chat with repetitive messages, excessive capitalization, wall-of-text symbols, or rapidly repeating the same phrase disrupts communication for everyone and is not allowed.

  • 4. Accounts

4.1 - Alts and Multiple accounts: Policies regarding alternative accounts must be strictly followed. Alt accounts cannot be used to gain unfair advantages or manipulate game mechanics.

4.2 - Your account is your responsibility: You are entirely responsible for everything that happens on your account. Saying "it was my sibling" or "I was hacked" will not excuse a rule violation. Securing your login details is up to you.

4.3 - Ban Evasion & "Sock Puppet" accounts: If you are banned, you must wait out the duration. Creating new accounts to bypass a ban is strictly forbidden and will result in all associated accounts being permanently removed.

4.4 - Mute/Punishment history evasion: Using alternative accounts or other methods to bypass an active mute or any other minor restriction is treated as a severe offense.

Rules governing identity, ownership, and accountability within the community.

  • 5. Advertising

Promoting external communities, discords, websites, products, or unrelated commercial ventures without explicit permission from Senior Staff is strictly prohibited.

  • 6. Client Modifications

Players must use an approved game client. The use of hacked clients, unauthorized mods, macros, scripts, or any third-party software that grants an unfair gameplay advantage is strictly prohibited.

  • 7. Inappropriate skins and names

Account cosmetics, usernames, and profiles must remain appropriate for a general audience. Names or skins featuring offensive language, hate symbols, or highly suggestive themes must be changed immediately.

  • 8. Chat Conduct

General chat should remain civil, welcoming, and constructive. While banter is fine, constant toxicity, excessive vulgarity, and hostile behavior that degrades the community environment will not be tolerated.

  • 9. Accusations

9.1 - Hackusations: If you suspect someone of cheating, report it quietly to the staff with proof. Publicly accusing players in global chat ruins the environment and causes unnecessary drama.

9.2 - Alt Accusations: Publicly calling out players as being "alts" or ban-evaders is prohibited. Bring your suspicions directly to a staff ticket instead.

Keeps the peace by ensuring player conflicts and suspicions are handled through official channels rather than public callouts.

  • 10. Safety and Security

10.1 - Toxicity and harassment: Targeted bullying, hate speech, malicious insults, or continuous harassment of any community member is zero-tolerance.

10.2 - "Blackmail" reporting and Ban Wars (Weaponizing): Reporting systems are for legitimate rule-breakers. Attempting to blackmail players with clips, or weaponizing the report system to get rival players banned maliciously, is heavily penalized.

10.3 - Disclosure of personal information: Doxxing, sharing, or threatening to reveal another player's real-world personal details (names, locations, social media, photos) will result in an immediate, permanent ban and potential legal escalation.

Prioritizes the psychological and real-world safety of our players. The community must remain a safe space free from severe interpersonal malice.

  • 11. Supporting Rule Breakers

11.1 - Knowledge of Rule Breaking: Assisting, harboring, or actively hiding a rule-breaker makes you an accomplice. If you are aware of someone exploiting, ban-evading, or breaking major rules, you are expected to report it.

This ensures the community works together to keep the environment clean. Ignorance is not an excuse if you actively helped someone break the rules.

  • 12. Politics, Religion, and Real-world issues

In-game chat is an escape for players. Highly polarizing real-world topics, including political debates, religious arguments, and sensitive current world events, are banned from public channels to prevent toxic arguments.

  • 13. Impersonation

Pretending to be someone else, specifically staff members, high-profile creators, or other prominent community figures, via usernames, skins, or chat manipulation is strictly forbidden.

  • 14. NSFW Imagery

The sharing, linking, or building of Not Safe For Work (NSFW) content, including adult imagery, highly graphic violence, or sexually explicit material, is strictly prohibited in all areas.

  • 15. Staff

15.1 - Ban Appeals / Tickets: All disagreements with punishments must go through the official ticketing system. Arguing with staff in public chat channels about a ban is not permitted.

15.2 - Manipulating Staff: Lying to staff, falsifying evidence, cropping clips maliciously, or tricking a moderator to get another player punished or get yourself unbanned will result in permanent restrictions.

15.3 - Interfering with Staff work: Do not disrupt moderators while they are handling tickets, conducting investigations, or moderating events.

15.4 - Spamming involving punishment decisions: Flooding staff DMs or tickets demanding updates on an appeal, or repeatedly making tickets for the same closed issue, is considered harassment.

15.5 - Micromanagement: Do not try to tell the staff how to do their jobs, dictate what punishments they should hand out, or constantly backseat-moderate. Trust the team to handle infractions.

Nation Rules

  • 1. Scamming

While political maneuvering is expected, flat-out scamming players out of their hard-earned materials, currency, or real estate via dishonest trades or misleading agreements is perfectly fine however, scamming someone of a Patron rank is strictly forbidden.

  • 2. Towns

2.1 - Towns must look like towns: Plots and structures should resemble an actual settlement. Random, chaotic block placement or giant empty cobblestone boxes are not permitted.

2.2 - Placeholder Towns and Nations: Creating "dummy" towns or nations just to hold land, secure resources, or act as a buffer zone without actual intent to build or populate them is prohibited.

2.3 - Town and Nation naming: Names must be appropriate, realistic, or immersive. Offensive, meme-heavy, or highly disruptive names will be forcibly changed by staff.

2.4 - Claim Blocking: Setting up claims specifically to trap another town, prevent them from expanding naturally, or cut off their access to the surrounding world is illegal.

2.5 - Claiming Waterways: Major rivers, oceans, and public shipping lanes must remain open for travel. Blocking off vital waterways with claims is not allowed.

2.6 - Snake Claims: Drawing long, one-block-wide lines of claims across the map to secure massive borders or connect distant areas ("snaking") is prohibited.

Guidelines for establishing and maintaining geopolitical boundaries. This ensures that the map remains beautiful, organized, and fair for all growing communities.

  • 3. Trapping

Luring players into inescapable pits, teleport traps, or instantly lethal death-rooms is forbidden. While combat is fine, players must always have a fair, sporting chance to defend themselves or escape.

  • 4. Movecraft

4.1 - Ship Piracy: Rules regarding the stealing, boarding, and hijacking of enemy vessels must be strictly adhered to during active naval engagements. Exploiting to steal ships from protected areas is prohibited.

4.2 - Ship design rights: Stealing another player's unique or custom ship designs block-for-block without permission is a violation of intellectual property rules.

4.3 - Ships must function and look like ships: All custom vehicles must be structurally sound and visually resemble an actual vessel (no flying obsidian boxes or unrendered eyesores).

4.4 - Shipyard usage: Public and private shipyards must be used for their intended purpose. Blocking or griefing someone else's active shipyard is punishable.

Governs the creation, deployment, and combat rules surrounding custom vehicles and naval warfare.

  • 5. Wars and Sieges

5.1 - Feeding points to the enemy side: Intentionally dying, throwing matches, or sending alt accounts to die to give the enemy nation war score points is considered match-fixing and is strictly illegal.

5.2 - Your town must be reasonable to siege: You cannot design your town layout to actively glitch out siege mechanics, block spawn points entirely, or make it physically impossible for an attacking force to initiate a fair raid.

5.3 - "Fake" and unserious sieges: Initiating a siege against an ally or an alt town just to farm points, avoid real conflicts, or exploit war mechanics is banned.

5.4 - Cannon placement: Artillery and offensive cannons must be placed within reasonable, realistic parameters and comply with technical restrictions.

5.5 - Siege banners: Rules regarding the placement, defense, and capturing of physical siege banners during a war must be followed precisely.

5.6 - Friendly Occupation: Occupying an allied or neutral town during a war without the Mayor's active permission to exploit defensive bonuses is not allowed.

Outlines the strict rules of engagement for massive geopolitical conflicts, ensuring that wars are won through strategy and skill rather than exploits.

  • 6. Town Conduct

6.1 - Insiding Towns: Joining a town with the explicit, malicious intent to rob their storage, delete their claims, betray their defenses, or ruin the settlement from the inside out is heavily punished.

6.2 - Mayor and Player Rights: Mayors hold ultimate authority over their towns, but residents also have basic protections. Mayors cannot unjustly evict players just to steal their personal vaults without proper warnings or justification.

Defines the social and political responsibilities of running and living within a community, preventing internal betrayal and tyrannical griefing.

  • 7. Terraforming and Map Defacement

7.1 - Defacement: Leaving floating tree canopies, random pillars of dirt, or massive lava/water casts across the wilderness ruins the world map and is strictly prohibited.

7.2 - Terraforming: Massive alterations to the natural landscape are allowed for town builds, but they must look natural and complete. Leaving half-finished, ugly excavations is a violation.

7.3 - Sand Mines: Stripping entire deserts down to sandstone for quick resources leaves massive eyesores. Dedicated or designated mining areas must be used instead.

7.4 - Pixel Art: Giant 2D pixel art maps must not be built flat on the ground where they deface the map overview. Keep artistic creations contained to appropriate indoor areas or map-art sectors.

Protects the environment and visual appeal of the server's world map from reckless destruction.

  • 8. Griefing and Theft

Unlawfully destroying, altering, or stealing blocks and items from another player's claimed property is strictly prohibited. Respect the hard work of your fellow players; if it isn't yours, don't touch it.

Creative Rules

  • 1. Obtaining Extra plots

Players are allotted a specific number of creative plots to ensure everyone gets a fair share of server resources. Using alt accounts, exploiting system bugs, or hoarding land under dummy profiles to claim extra building space beyond your allowed limit is strictly forbidden.

  • 2. Design Theft

The creative server is meant for innovation and testing. Copying another player's custom Movecraft ships, vehicle schematics, or unique architectural builds block-for-block without their explicit permission is a major violation. Give credit where it's due, and do your own engineering!

  • 3. Griefing

3.1 - Griefing Plots: Destroying, altering, or building offensive structures on a plot belonging to another player without their consent will result in an immediate ban and a wipe of your own plots.

3.2 - Griefing fights: When players are actively testing their Movecraft vehicles against one another in designated combat zones, outside players must not interfere, block shots, or disrupt the battle.

3.3 - Attempts to disrupt server performance: Building massive redstone lag-machines, spawning thousands of entities, or engineering complex Movecraft structures designed purely to crash the physics engine or lag the server is zero-tolerance.

Protects the hard work of creators and ensures the server stays technically stable. Creative freedom ends the moment it ruins someone else's build or brings down the server's performance.

Discord Rules

  • 1. Doxxing

Sharing, leaking, or threatening to reveal any private, real-world information about another community member (such as names, addresses, phone numbers, school/workplaces, or personal social media profiles) is absolutely forbidden. Breaking this rule will result in an immediate, permanent ban and a direct report to Discord Trust & Safety.

  • 2. Spamming

Keep the channels readable. Do not flood the chat with rapid messages, wall-of-text copy-pastas, excessive emoji strings, or repeated image uploads. Additionally, avoid unnecessary or mass pings (tagging roles or individuals repeatedly) as it disrupts everyone's notification feeds.

  • 3. Chat Content

3.1 - Keep Content Appropriate: Ensure all text, images, memes, and links shared are safe for a general audience. NSFW (Not Safe For Work) material, explicit imagery, and graphic content are strictly prohibited.

3.2 - Content outside of the SMC official server: Bringing drama, malicious logs, or toxic screenshots from private group chats or external Discord servers into this community to stir up trouble is not allowed.

Sets the baseline for what kind of media and topics are acceptable to share in public text and voice channels.

  • 4. Follow Discord Rules (TOS)

All members must strictly adhere to Discord's official Terms of Service (TOS) and Community Guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, meeting the minimum age requirement (13+ in most regions) to use the platform. Violating Discord's global rules will get you removed from this server instantly.

  • 5. Staff

Treat the moderation and administration teams with respect. If a staff member asks you to drop a topic or change your behavior, comply. If you have an issue with a moderation decision, handle it quietly through the proper support channels or tickets rather than arguing publicly in general chat.

  • 6. Toxicity, Baiting, and Harassment

We want a welcoming community. Continuous targeting, bullying, or slurs aimed at any user will not be tolerated. This also includes "baiting"—purposely trying to provoke, anger, or trip up other users or staff just to start a toxic argument or get them reaction-banned.

  • 7. Advertisement

Do not use our channels or member list to promote external Discord servers, gaming networks, YouTube/Twitch channels, or real-world products. Unsolicited advertising via Direct Messages (DM advertising) to our server members will result in an immediate ban.

  • 8. Misuse of channels

Please look at the channel names before posting! Keep bot commands in the designated bot channels, game discussions in the gaming channels, and memes where they belong. Keeping conversations organized helps keep the server clean and enjoyable for everyone.
